DC Capital Traces Cuff

$195.00
Material:

The beginnings of a capital, etched in bronze. Drawn from a 1793 map labeled “Territory of Columbia,” the Capital Traces cuff follows the streets and waterways of the early city, with the Capitol anchoring its unfolding plan. The map preserves traces of a landscape since transformed—creeks that were later covered over or channeled underground as the city grew.

Fine etched lines catch the light against a darker patina, bringing that earlier landscape into relief. The warm bronze curves around the wrist, carrying a memory of the waterways beneath today’s streets.
